Getting Critical About Race & Medicine

// Socioeconomic and Healthcare Medical System //

First! After reading, I encourage you to view my Sociology Project on "Race Correction and Disparities in the Medical System". A very vivid description of what many individuals are hindered with today and an informative fact-based perspecitive of the socioeconomic factors and race relations in professional environments.

The Question of the Day: If you woke up and had 1 minute to prepare a TED Talk what would your TED talk be?

With almost no time to prepare, I must have procrastinated really (really) hard on this one. Usually, I try to have my tasks done days in advance. Which, even then, can be difficult in engineering. However, should it be so that I was in a very deep sleep with no way of obtaining a university excusable absence, I would start ranting about the sociology of race in our modern culture. A subject that is pretty much off the top of my head, I just took a class on it, and I actually learned so much from this class. The highlight of the talk would be “No one in today’s modern society is at fault for systemic racism, but the CHOICES that people make in direct or indirect spite of someone’s skin color, disregarding efforts of empathy – humility – equity – and fairness, are at fault for the continuous renewal of systemic and institutional racism”.
